Two-Axle Dog Trailer Setup with Sliding A-Frame Drawbar
.jpg)
A big thanks to the Watters family from Charnham for allowing Uralla Metal to set up this 2 axle dog trailer, complete with a sliding A-frame drawbar.
Designed for practical livestock transport, the standout feature of this build is the sliding drawbar system, which allows the A-frame to retract back into the body of the dog trailer when required.
Sliding A-Frame Drawbar for Easier Livestock Unloading
On a conventional dog trailer, the drawbar sits between the truck and trailer. With this custom sliding A-frame design, the drawbar can be retracted into the trailer body, allowing the truck to back much closer to the front of the trailer. See in our photos.
This creates a more practical load-through and unload-through setup, making it easier to move livestock between the truck and trailer without the drawbar obstructing access between the two units.
For livestock operators working regularly around loading ramps, yards and unloading facilities, it is a simple but highly practical feature that can make day-to-day stock handling more efficient.
